Add an app entry
You can save multiple accounts for signing in to the same app.
Add an app entry from the Kaspersky Password Manager window
- Unlock the vault by entering the main password and tapping Unlock.
If your device is running Android 6.0 or later, supports fingerprint authentication, and has fingerprint authentication enabled in the app settings, you can use it to unlock your vault instead of entering the main password.
- In the main app window, tap
or swipe the screen to the right.
The quick access bar appears on the left.
- On the quick access bar, tap Apps >
.
The App window opens.
- Fill in the relevant fields with the information you want to keep in this entry.
- Tap Save.
The app entry appears in the Apps window.
If you sign in to an app with credentials that have not yet been added to the vault, Kaspersky Password Manager automatically recognizes such credentials as new and prompts you to add an app entry. If you sign in to an app with an existing login but a new password, Kaspersky Password Manager prompts you to save the new password for the existing account.
You can generate a strong password for an app account while adding it from the Kaspersky Password Manager window.
Generate a strong password while adding an app entry
- Tap the Password field in the website or app entry you are creating.
- Tap Generate password.
The dialog where you can generate a password opens, and the app generates a password using the default parameters.
- Change the password parameters if needed by tapping Password parameters:
- Drag the slider to specify the number of characters to be used when generating passwords. The default password length is 12 characters.
- Select/deselect the 123 checkbox to turn on/off the use of numerals during password generation. By default, the checkbox is selected.
- Select/deselect the ABC checkbox to turn on/off the use of uppercase letters during password generation. By default, the checkbox is selected.
- Select/deselect the #&% checkbox to turn on/off the use of special characters during password generation. By default, the checkbox is selected.
The app automatically generates a new password when the parameters are changed. Kaspersky Password Manager displays information about the password's strength above the password.
- If you want the app to generate another password with the same parameters, tap
.
- Tap Use password.
The app copies the generated password to the Password field and the dialog closes.
