Main application window

When Kaspersky Password Manager is locked, your data is unavailable. In this case, the main application window displays a field for entering the main password, the UNLOCK button, and the Forgot your main password? link.

Open the main application window

  1. In the menu bar, click the Kaspersky Password Manager icon, enter the main password and then click Unlock to unlock the vault.

    If your device supports Touch ID and Touch ID is enabled in Kaspersky Password Manager, you can also use it to unlock the vault.

  2. Click the Kaspersky Password Manager icon again to open the context menu and choose Kaspersky Password Manager.

In the main application window, you can:

  • Add websites, applications, bank cards, documents, addresses, and notes.
  • Create folders.
  • Block access to your data.
  • Search the vault for data.
  • Reset the sort order for the entries.
  • Open the synchronization status window.
  • Open the license information window.
  • Switch between the tile view and the list view of displaying entries.
  • Check how secure your passwords are.

Layout and controls of the main application window

The All Entries, Favorites, Websites, Applications, Bank Cards, Documents, Addresses, and Notes sections in the left pane of the main application window provide quick access to your data. In the right pane, you can view, add, edit, delete, and organize your data.

You can use the search bar in the upper right part of the main application window to search the vault for data.

You can use the buttons in the main application window to perform the following actions:

Lock Kaspersky Password Manager.

Check password security.

Reset the sort order for the entries.

Add entries.

Switch to the list view.

Switch to the tile view.

Application icon

When Kaspersky Password Manager is running, the application icon is displayed in the menu bar. If the application icon is inactive, the vault is locked and your data is unavailable. You can access your data only when the vault is unlocked. To unlock the vault, you must enter your main password. If your device supports Touch ID and Touch ID is enabled in Kaspersky Password Manager, you can also use it to unlock the vault.

The Kaspersky Password Manager icon performs the following functions:

Application preferences window

Open the application preferences window

In the application pull-down menu, choose Preferences.

The application preferences window contains the following tabs:

  • General. Use this tab to set the general application preferences. For example, you can configure the autolock time, the time to clear the Clipboard, license expiration reminders, or change the main password.
  • Browsers. Use this tab to see which browsers have the Kaspersky Password Manager extension enabled and to open the Safari preferences, the Chrome Web Store, or the Add-ons Manager for installing the extension. You can also choose whether Kaspersky Password Manager will automatically save your logins and passwords, addresses and bank card details when you fill out an online form.

The  button opens the Kaspersky Password Manager help section that describes the active application window. You can also view the help section for the active application window by choosing Open Help for This Window in the Help menu.

Kaspersky Password Manager extension

With the Kaspersky Password Manager extension, you can access and manage your website accounts from a browser window.

You can open the extension menu by clicking in the browser toolbar.

From the extension menu you can:

  • Search the vault for data.
  • Go to websites added to Favorites.
  • Open entries added to Favorites.
  • View recently visited websites and recently used web accounts.
  • View accounts to sign in to websites.
  • View bank cards and addresses.
  • Open Password Generator.
  • Open the main application window.
  • Block or unblock access to your data.
  • In Safari, you can also copy data (for example logins and passwords) stored in the application.
