About Authenticator
Authenticator is a Kaspersky Password Manager feature that allows you to generate one-time passwords for two-factor authentication in third-party services (for example, for accounts on websites or in apps). When you turn on two-factor authentication for a third-party service, use Authenticator to create one-time passwords. You can use Authenticator on any device where Kaspersky Password Manager is installed and you are signed in to your My Kaspersky account.
When two-factor authentication is turned on, you need to enter a one-time 6-digit password generated in Kaspersky Password Manager in addition to your user name and password when you sign in to a service. This way, even if someone knows your user name and password, they cannot sign in to your account.
For accounts with two-factor authentication, Kaspersky Password Manager saves the following information in the entry:
- Account name. Use a meaningful website or app name to quickly find the service that you want to edit or log in to.
- One-time password. Every 30 seconds Kaspersky Password Manager generates a new 6-digit code for two-factor authentication.
- Comment. Any additional information you want to add to the entry.
